Scholarships are available from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation for current students and graduates of Hocking College who plan to continue their education at a four-year college or university.  The Foundation will awards about 60 scholarships nationally in 2011 but awards are for those students who are not yet part of the four-year system.

The Undergraduate Transfer Scholarships available through the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation are based on the nominees’ high level of ability and need.  Candidates must be nominated by Hocking College’s faculty representatives Valerie Githinji or Roger Springer prior to the January 19, 2011 deadline.

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is a private foundation dedicated to helping young people of exceptional promise reach their full potential through education.  The Foundation provides challenging opportunities to high achievers from lower-income families through its Young Scholars Program, generous scholarships for under graduate and graduate study and grants to nonprofit organizations and educational institutions.

For information on the Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship contact Githinji at 740.753.7012 or Springer at 740.753-.7080. Offices for both are on the first floor concourse area of John Light Hall.
