||Department Chair - Hotel and Restaurant Management
This position combines higher education instruction and administration with hands on day-to-day management of Hocking College event venue, The Lodge at Hocking College.
The incumbent for this position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, leadership and management of The Lodge at Hocking College, and develop, teach and administer the Hotel & Restaurant Management division of Culinary School at Hocking College.
As Manager of The Lodge at Hocking College, the person selected will work with the Executive Director of Culinary and Hospitality Operation on catering and event planning, as well as working with the Dean of the School of Arts, Business and Sciences in managing program curriculum, creating course schedules, assisting with faculty and student issues, conducting and preparing program reviews, coordinating assessment of student academic achievement, college credit plus, conduct professional development for faculty, adjunct assignments, will be responsible for faculty evaluations, and participating in other special projects.
Qualifications – Education, Experience, and Skills
- Three to five (3-5) years of experience as an educator, chef, or hotel and/or restaurant manager;
- Master’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
- Demonstrated proficiency in customer service and hospitality management,
- Knowledge and cutting edge ideas for integration of hospitality service trends such as utilization of big data in personalized marketing, zero waste optimization, and DIY travel.
