Position Title Community Service - Student Assistant
Subcode Off Campus
Function Assist local families in a community service environment in the Nelsonville, Logan or Athens area. Student must be eligible for the Federal Work Study Program to participate. Hourly rate is $2 more per hour than on campus positions.

Job functions may vary depending on the area you are working.  Current organizations participating in the community service student work program are:

1) HAVAR - Provide support for adults with disabilities

2) Mediation Services

3) The Salvation Army - Office support and outreach to families in need

4) Nelsonville/York Elementary School - (Tutoring in Math and Reading)

Minimum Requirements

-A background check is required for tutoring positions as you will be working with children

-Ability to work successfully in a team environment as well as individually.

-Ability to communicate verbally and written.

-Must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress standards each semester.

-Must have reliable transportation to get to work site.
